As of late, Google is quickly becoming the ultimate tool used to find local information and services. They are also the go-to source for your business’s Google My Business (GMB) listing. Maybe you realized that after forgetting or ignoring your GMB business listing for quite some time. If so, it’s time to get back on track by updating it in an authentic way and making sure that all of the appropriate information is readily available to potential customers and clients alike.
In an effort to properly update your GMB listing, we recommend that you keep the following in mind:
· Revisit with a fresh new eye and ensure that all of your business’s contact information is accurately listed.
· Ensure that all Google-placed geo-coordinates are accurate. The recent Google Maps update has made it even more important to keep these coordinates up-to-date than ever before.
· Clean up any expired reviews or comments. If you would like to offer feedback, please do so in a way that makes sense and does not go against our guidelines.
· If you have made any updates to your business’s official website, please also ensure that these updates have been reflected on your Google My Business listing.
The first three of these points are fairly straightforward. However, the last one is slightly more complex. In order to make sure that your GMB listing is accurate and up-to-date, we recommend that you go through each item and manually update the geo-coordinates as well as remove any expired reviews or comments. We also suggest that you look over your business’s official website and make sure it is reflecting the most recent changes in regards to its contact information as well as any updated content (images, text, etc.)
