Instagram killed the video star?

For years people have wanted to be movie stars and other types of celebrities. Full disclosure, that’s not for me. I’m a more of behind the scenes guy. So you want to be an internet celebrity bat need to figure out how. Well, here is a small beginners guide to that. Good luck.

Well, if you’re your dad didn’t represent O.J. in a murder trial and you were one Paris’s assistant then you might have a hard time getting the followers. You can pay for followers but many sponsors will look to see if you have organic followers. The difference between organic and paid followers is that the organic followers have no incentive other than wanting to follow you. So how do you build up an organic following?

Step one:

What do you want to be known for?

Are you a fitness model? Baker? Artist? Photographer? What do you want to be known for? Don’t be all over the place with this. Have a plan.

Step two:

Have beautiful pictures.

Instagram is a visual medium. Have good visuals, it’s that simple. Today you don’t need more than a smartphone and maybe a good photo app or two. Look at the thousand photographers Instagram accounts for inspiration and tips.

Step Three:

Understand and don’t abuse hashtags

This is from Instagrams help pages.

After you tag your post with a hashtag, you’ll be able to tap the hashtag to see a page that shows all photos and videos people have uploaded with that hashtag. Things to keep in mind: When people with private profiles tag posts, they won’t appear publicly on hashtag pages. Numbers are allowed in hashtags.
